Scott Pearson

Director of Risk & Asset Development, CHS Propane

Scott has more than 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, including 12 years with CHS. Most recently his focus within the industry has been with CHS processing and food ingredients. Scott is currently responsible for asset operations and risk management for CHS propane. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Outside of work Scott and his family enjoy camping and traveling to National Parks across the United States. Scott is a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in support of his brother, Peter, who has been battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for the past four years.

Expertise

Scott has a passion for ensuring propane safety awareness and standards. The propane business unit supplies customers who market propane under the Cenex® brand with assets that improve the efficiency and reliability of their propane supply. He also serves on the Safety & Training advisory committee for the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). PERC leads safety and training efforts among propane retailers and consumers and drives technology development to expand adoption of propane as a clean, domestic, and affordable energy source.

Scott grew up in Elk River, MN, the location of Rural America’s first atomic power plant.
